This means keeping your LinkedIn profile updated and ensuring your CV is always current. She also notes that a key to career success is having a clear vision or 'North Star' to guide you through career changes and challenges.

Connections and Soft Skills Matter 🤝
When reaching out to professionals, Amy advises: “Rather than asking if they have a job available, introduce yourself and see how they might be able to help you in general.” When you limit your question to just a job, you close yourself off to other ways people could potentially help you — whether it be advice or an introduction to someone who could give you an opportunity.

For newcomers who may not be as familiar with Canadian soft skills, she suggests engaging in activities like conferences and networking events to understand Canadian workplace culture better. “Try to connect with people online and in the real world to figure out how this culture is different from the one you’ve come from,” Amy suggests.
